RMetS 2nd Amateur Meteorologists' Conference, University of Reading, 14th/15th September 2013

WAM contributed a number of events to the Conference programme including a fascinating talk by artist Jenny Kiehn on her experience of hurricanes and their effect on her art, Dr Richard Hamblyn's inspiring survey of weather in literature, art workshops led by Ingrid Jensen and Julia Rogers that took a different look at meteorology, and the Climate Change Question Time panel with a very eminent panel of climate scientists including Prof Dame Julia Slingo OBE FRS, Prof Joanna Haigh CBE FRS FRMetS, Prof Richard Allan, Dr Ed Hawkins and Dr Peter Stott in the Chair.

Guitarist Gerard Cousins opened the Conference on Friday evening with a performance of 'Wind Color Vector' by contemporary Japanese composer Takashi Yoshimatsu.
